SUMMER READING CHALLENGE 2023....

 

GET READY – sign up at your local library from Saturday 8th July.

 

SET – we will give you your Collector's folder and special glow in-the-dark bookmark.

 

READ!– any six library library books you like over the holidays. We have thousands to choose from.

 

Tell us about what you've read*, collect all six stickers (three are scratch & sniff!) and you'll receive a certificate and medal at your library's award ceremony.

 

*there will be someone to listen to your child's book review at every library session except Friday evening.

 

 

We'd like to have some 'vaguely' sports related activities on the table just inside the door that we had science activities on last year. We'd love to borrow (or have donated) finger skateboards, jigsaws with a sports theme, tabletop blow football etc etc.... basically anything indoorsy enough for our small space and it needs to be something you are not too precious about as LOTS of children will be playing with it.

 

Items can be dropped in the library or give us a shout and we can make alternative arrangements for drop off/pick up.

Book Club

Our friendly Book Club meets on the third Tuesday of the month in the Library at 3.30pm. We welcome anyone who enjoys reading and likes
talking about books. We don't do 'lit crit' but we discuss why we like/didn't like the book choice. We exchange tips on recent reads that we think others might enjoy, and then wander on to a wide range of subjects. You don't have to buy the books – we take turns to choose a book from a Cambridgeshire Libraries multi-copy list. Upcoming read:

Next month's read ‘In a Blink of an Eye’ by Jo Callaghan will be discussed on Tuesday 18th November. All ages and genders are welcome, and anyone born after 1980 would be greatly appreciated for their new perspectives! As always, we can provide a copy of the book, so no need to buy one.
