School Visit Report - May 2026

 

 

The children from Sun and Star classes at Robert Arkenstall School came for a library visit on Tuesday 5 May. The theme was ‘seaside and poetry’, so we had seaside stories and poems, and made sandcastle pictures.  Shells, crabs and flags were coloured and glued in place. The children were all looking forward to a school outing to Hunstanton, so this was very appropriate.

 

Most of the children had been to the seaside, and all of them had ideas about what you might find there.  Crabs (especially red ones) were a firm favourite, while colourful shells and special stickers made the templates into great pictures.  With the help of a Spotter’s guide, some of the shells were identified with their correct names. 

 

 

 

               

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

       

 

 

 

 

On Tuesday 12 May, we repeated the activities with Comet class. They all knew a lot about the seaside and what you could expect to find there, including crabs and seashells, sand and water.  Lots more sandcastle pictures were created, then sent back to school with their teacher to take home at the end of the day.
