Kate Rhodes Visit
Friday 8th November
Wow - what a brilliant Q&A we had with Kate at Haddenham Arts Centre! She gave very engaging, frank, amusing, informative and fascinating answers to the questions from interviewer Jackie, and the very appreciative audience.
We heard how she first started writing poetry and how she writes her novels now, got published, finds her inspiration, loves libraries and promoting literacy, and doesn't generally use writing software to keep track of her twisty plots and fascinating characters... plus her varied life experiences (including being stalked for over a year), love of the stunning Isles of Scilly (where her second series of mystery thrillers starring Ben Kitto are set), and a bit about her latest nail-bitingly tense book 'The Stalker'.
HUGE thanks to Kate, and to Haddenham Arts Centre for hosting us.
Kate has promised to come back to run a Writing Workshop next year, so watch this space! We will also have more "meet an author" events in the future, alhough Kate will be a hard act to follow!
Kate Rhodes is an acclaimed crime novelist and an award-winning poet. She lives in Cambridge with her husband, the writer and film-maker Dave Pescod, and visited the Scilly Isles every year as a child, which gave her the idea for this series. She is one of the founders of the Killer Women writing group.
